Mrs. Marsha Lane Blackburn Greene, age 61, of West Jefferson, died Wednesday evening, January 13, 2010 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirk McNeil, Rev. John Elledge, and Rev. David Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Greene was born in Ashe County on Thursday, September 30, 1948 to the late James Coy (Jake) and Inez Davis Blackburn. She retired from AF Bank. She was a member of West Jefferson Methodist Church. She especially loved her prayer meeting group.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James. E. Greene on November 6, 2009. Marsha was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by a son, Tony Greene and wife, Tyson, of Charlotte; a brother, Dickie Blackburn, of West Jefferson; two sisters, Libby Jones, of High Point and Jan Lewis, of Greensboro; a grandson, Jacob (Jake) Butler Greene, of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Julia Lane Greene, of Charlotte; several nieces and nephews also survive.
