Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 2:00 PM Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Visitation: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Interment: Bare Cemetery, Laurel Springs, NC BiographyMrs. Greta Delaney Bare Wheeler Dixon, age 97, of Laurel Springs passed away Friday morning, February 12, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bare Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Dixon was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, May 7, 1912 to the late Dorcey Allen and Minnie Cox Bare. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Peak Creek Church of the Brethren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Gilbert Wheeler and Lee Dixon and a son, Kyle Wheeler. Mrs. Dixon is survived by a son, Huey Wheeler, of Laurel Springs; a daughter, Betty Wheeler Boggs, of Jefferson; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
