Funeral Service: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 2:00 PM Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Visitation: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Interment: Jones Family Cemetery, Lansing, NC  BiographyMrs. Velda June Richardson Woods, age 73, of Lansing passed away Saturday morning, February 13, 2010 at her home.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Barker and Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Woods was born in Ashe County on Sunday, December 27, 1936 to the late Joseph Frank and Adell Shepherd Richardson. She was a Group Leader at United Chemi-con. She attended Lansing Presbyterian Church and Silas Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Joe Woods, of the home; a daughter, Louise Ham and husband, Roger, of Lansing; two brothers, Fred Richardson and wife, Betty, of Lansing and Dean Richardson and wife, Skippy, of Lansing; two grandchildren, Stacey Howell and husband, Chris of Lansing and Mat Ham and wife, Tina of Lansing; four great-grandchildren, Catelyn Howell, Braxton Ham, Luke Rupard and Jackson Ham, all of Lansing; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted! |
