Funeral Service: Saturday, February 20, 2010 2:00 PM Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Visitation: Saturday, February 20, 2010 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Interment: Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Jefferson, NC BiographyMrs. Christina Ruth Roten Waddell, better known as "Tina", age 64, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, February 18, 2010 at her home.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Waddell was born in Ashe County on Thursday, June 28, 1945 to the late Robert Lee Roten and Edith Parsons Roten. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Eldreth. Mrs. Waddell is survived by her husband, Fred Waddell; a son, Rodney Waddell, of Baltimore, MD; a daughter , Jaylyn Waddell, of Baltimore, MD; her mother, Edith Parsons Roten, of Jefferson; a brother, J.W. Roten and wife, Lib, of West Jefferson; a sister, Nancy Crepps, of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
