Funeral Service: Thursday, August 26, 2010 2:00 PM Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Visitation: Wednesday, August 25, 2010 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Boone Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Jefferson, NC Interment: Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Jefferson, NC  BiographyMrs. Ruby Turnmire Baker, age 90, of West Jefferson passed away Monday afternoon, August 23, 2010 at her home.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar, Rev. Carl Hart and Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Baker was born in Ashe County on Friday, April 30, 1920 to the late Alce and Bertha Eller Turnmire. She was a Homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Baker; two sons; a daughter; five brothers and a sister. Mrs. Baker is survived by a son, Eddie Baker and wife, Sandy, of West Jefferson; five daughters, Susie Baker, of West Jefferson, Betty Holt, of West Jefferson, Carol Russell and husband, L.C. of West Jefferson, Brenda Lovelace and husband, Randy, of Sparta and Sandy Greer and husband, Wayne, of Deep Gap; a special caregiver, Dorothy Hart; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great, great-grandson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
